> What is this?
This is a project brought to you by 14 different artists and its organizer, Joyfulldreams, to keep the tradition of custom Homestuck calendars alive a little longer!
The theme for 2026 is Homestuck: Acts 1-5. The calendar is a highlight reel of the first half of the comic, featuring pieces that will have you reliving the experience of reading the comic as the year goes by! The front and back covers are a pair of stunning pieces that represent the finale of Act 5, [S] Cascade.
> What's in it?
Aside from the art pieces, the calendar portion emulates the style of the old ForFansByFans calendars. Various Homestuck-related anniversaries, character birthdays, and other relevant dates are noted. Additionally, it attempts to be inclusive of holidays and important dates from countries and cultures around the world: It includes noteworthy dates for the USA, Canada, the UK/Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, the EU, and more -- as well as Christian, Jewish, Islamic, and Hindu holidays and holy days.
If you feel like we've missed anything, please let us know so we can include it in next year's calendar!
> How do I get one?
You can purchase a physical copy of the calendar on this website and have it shipped to you worldwide! They can be shipped to any country where it is legal to send mail via the USPS (which is most of them). Pre-orders for the 2026 calendar are now closed, but you can purchase some of what limited overstock we have left until they run out. Pre-orders will be mailed out the following week to hopefully arrive at their destination before Christmas! (UPDATE: There may be delays for as much as an additional week in mailing out the calendar. Very sorry for the inconvenience.)
We can't guarantee any orders made after November 16th will arrive before the new year, as they may be mailed later.
A free, digital version of the calendar is available here. Or, alternatively, you can purchase a print-ready pdf of the calendar for a minimum of $1.00 USD, and have it printed yourself locally!
Please note: The free digital version of the calendar is not optimized for print. The print-ready version has the images processed and formatted in such a way that any print shop will be able to take that file and turn it into a sleek calendar with proper colors. Additionally, the image processing on the print-ready calendar renders most of the art pieces not optimal for digital viewing, which is why they are separate.
> Do I HAVE to use Stripe?
If you're able to use the Stripe checkout to make your purchase, that is very much the preferred method. Stripe allows you to use a credit or debit card, Link, CashApp, ApplePay, and GooglePay (depending on your region, device, and browser). However, if none of that works for you, it's possible to use Paypal instead on an individual basis. Please send an email to [email protected] if you're interested in making an alternative purchase.
> What's FRAF?
FRAF stands for Fruity Rumpus Asshole Factory, and it's a collective of fan creators which have been granted an official license to monetize their fanworks by Andrew Hussie and the Homestuck Independent Creative Union, or HICU. The calendar project is a member of FRAF and thus has an official license!
While this is exciting, let it be clear that as the calendar does not operate through the FRAF website or store, ALL profits from calendar sales still go directly to the artists and organizer. Nonetheless, there is a link to the FRAF website on the left of this page's top banner if you want to check that out! There's a forum, don't you know?
> How do I get in touch?
If you have any questions or concerns, please send them via an email to [email protected] OR an ask/message to joyfulldreams.tumblr.com.
> How do I get my art in the calendar?
The calendar project is by invitation only; there's no formal application process, sorry. But if you want to throw your hat into the ring, use any of the contact info above to shoot us a message expressing your interest with examples of your work (an art tag on your blog or other social is also fine). Keep in mind that generally, we try to choose artists who have been active in the Homestuck fandom in some way within the last year or so ('active' meaning 'has done literally anything Homestuck-related'), and who has at least some experience doing art commissions. (These aren't strict rules though.) Also, you'll need to inquire about it at some point before the end of March in order to be considered for the roster for that year.
Please keep in mind that there are only 14 slots every year and so many qualified artists! A slot can't ever be guaranteed.
